Rocky Winslow has finally gotten the time to get into the studio and do this CD. Always really into Woody Shaw’s polytonal and energetic playing, this is not a bad role model for him but certainly a challenging one! Winslow has done a superb job of choosing his sidemen: the five-star Eddie Gomez; one of our favorite Vikings, Stefan Karlsson; the amazing Elliot Zigmund kicking everyone’s backside; and Marc Solis and Phil Wigfall soaring through these tunes with great ease
