Maria Yudina (1899 - 1970) was one of the great, Russian pianists of irreproachable virtuosity and markedly individual style who combined emotional exuberance and deep intellectual probing. A great interpreter of the classics, she was an early advocate in the former USSR of Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Hindemith and Volkonsky. Historic Recordings
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SOUND QUALITY: The original masters of this live recording did not age well. The overall sound contains a certain amount of distortion. This distortion pervades both CDs. But because of the high quality of the performances themselves, we decided to release the set with the above warning.
